(New York City)–The World Pool Series(WPS) is pleased to announce that the world’s biggest bookmaker, William Hill, will be offering wagering on the fledgling tour’s four events throughout 2017.

The first event of the new 8-ball tour, The Molinari Players Championship, kicks off at Steinway Billiards in New York City on January 14 and concludes on Jan. 17.  128 players from 35 countries will be slugging it out in 8-ball for over $100,000 in prize money. The winner will collect $20,000.

William Hill will be offering wagering on selected matches from rounds 1-3. Fans can bet on all the matches from the last 16 down to the final. The betting company is also offering wagers on outright winners. The maximum one can win on one bet is 2500 British Pounds.

“To get a major Bookmaker to support the World Pool Series is a major step forward,” said multi world champion and WPS founder Darren Appleton. “Having wagering creates a lot of traffic and encourages people to watch and that gives us more exposure for the series and the players. Let’s face it, when people can bet on a sport, there is more interest. I’m like that with other sports. This means we will get more traffic and this is great news for the sponsors. Going forward this will hopefully produce more sponsorship money and this will allow us to do free streaming.”

Fans in the United States are prohibited by law to place bets online, but the service is available in most other countries around the world.

William Hill has already posted the lines for the Molinari Players Championship for outright betting. For more information please visit the WPS dedicated page on the William Hill website here:  http://www.sports.williamhill.com/betting/en-gb/pool
